From Tuesday 1 July 2025, public transport fares in Waikato have been increased by 11.4% on the following services:

  • BUSIT 
  • Te Huia 
  • Flex 

The increase is part of recent government decisions, and the Waikato Regional Council 2025/26 Annual Plan. Waikato Regional Council has increased the portion of operational costs that’s covered by Waikato public transport fare, due to rising costs of delivering services and government decision to increase local private share fare box recovery. 

Please have your Bee Card balance ready. There are no changes to concessions or weekly cap system.
