25 Taumarunui Public Bus Service Ending Friday 26 June 2026; Health Shuttle Continues

The 25 Taumarunui bus service will come to an end on Friday, 26 June 2026. This change supports a safe and sustainable approach for health clients. As a result, the public bus service will be terminated, and InterCity will be the only long distance bus available from Taumarunui.

This change will also affect the Te Kuiti, Otorohanga and Kihikihi communities. Public transport options will continue to be available through the 26 Te Kuiti service for Te Kuiti and Otorohanga, and the 24 Te Awamutu service for Kihikihi.

To ensure continued access for patients travelling to hospital specialist appointments, Health New Zealand will operate a dedicated health shuttle focused on meeting the needs of patients who rely on this service.
