I'm driven

Meet the Hamiltonians who are driven to work, study and play.

A new BUSIT campaign called ‘I’m driven’ launches this month. It shows why more and more Hamilton people are choosing to catch the bus - it’s easy, affordable, safe and provides great access in and around our city and suburbs.

Billboards across Hamilton and bus backs will feature frequent bus users, including Ann, who is driven to catch the bus so she can spend quality time with grandson LeRoy, Melissa who uses the bus to safely get to and from Hamilton’s many shopping centres and Harry who catches the bus to get to his job, to the gym and to tertiary study.

Be driven! We’re giving away 10 $50 City Explorer tickets a month. City Explorer gives you daily unlimited travel around Hamilton. To enter the draw, tell us why you’re driven. Email your entries to imdriven@waikatoregion.govt.nz.

Lynden Court bus stops now open

A new bus stop at one of Hamilton’s busiest interchanges has been completed ahead of schedule and is now open.

Work on the bus stop outside the Chartwell library in Lynden Court began at the end of October and now enables buses to drop off and pick up passengers from both sides of the road.

That means some buses will no longer be required to undertake a loop along Comries and Hukanui Roads to get to the bus stop, reducing travel times and improving connectivity.

Buses travelling toward the northern suburbs and Pukete will depart from the new stop outside the library. These routes are;
• Flagstaff 4
• Rototuna 16
• Rototuna Direct
• Orbiter Anti-Clockwise.

Buses travelling toward the University of Waikato and Transport Centre depart from the existing bus stop outside Westfield Chartwell. These routes are;
• Flagstaff 4
• Chartwell 5
• Claudelands 14
• Rototuna16
• Rototuna Direct
• Orbiter Clockwise
• Northerner 30

The bus will continue straight along Tramway Rd and not travel along Carrs Rd. From Tramway, the bus will turn left onto Alderson and left onto Fairview before turning around and continuing on to Radiata. The same route will be taken in reverse for the outward journey. We apologise for any inconvenience.
